Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Oyo State has reiterated its commitments at ensuring a safe and secured atmosphere throughout the State.

The NSCDC Commandant, Dr Micheal Adaralewa stated this while inagurating a new office of the Corps at Iresaadu in Surulere Local Government area of Oyo State.

Dr Adaralewa said the establishment of the NSCDC Command at Iresaadu became imperative in an efforts to bring security near the people of the area to guarantee maximum protection of their lives and property.

He said the gesture would afford the communities to avert any major crises and manage contemporary security challenges to create an enabling environment for social and economic development.

That we are having this gathering underscore the hospitality, patriotism and sense of responsibility of the good people of Iresaadu and by extension the communities under Surulere Local Government.”

“Distinguished ladies and gentlemen,  you will all agree with me that the tranquility enjoyed by the Local Government is not absolute anywhere and it is on this premise that the Commandant General of the Corps, Dr Ahmed Audi approved the establishment and citing of area “K” Command office as a means of consolidating on the commendable efforts of the Oyo State government, Ogbomoso Local Governments and security actors in the State”

NSCDC boss in Oyo State said the grassroots security disposition of the corps has engendered a working collaboration between the corps and citizens of the country.

Dr Adaralewa explained that the gesture manifested in the area of intelligent gathering, alternative dispute resolution, disaster management and response, and other safety and security mechanisms.

He noted that the siting of the station would further strengthen the grassroots security mechanism that would enhance conscious and collaborative efforts in policing, especially at the rural areas.

Dr Adaralewa stressed that the newly commissioned Area “K” Command office in Iresaadu would be superintending over six Divisions which are, Surulere, Iresapupa, Surulere South, Ogo Oluwa(Ajaawa), Ogo Oluwa(odo oba) and Ogo Oluwa II(Opete).

He noted that NSCDC would continue to ensure the engagement of available human and material resources to ensure the protection of lives and property.

Dr Adaralewa who promised to collaborate with sister agencies for the maintenance of law and order, called for the corporation and support of the communities to collectively achieve a safe, secured and peaceful environment.

On his part, Prince Julius Olanipekun, appreciated NSCDC for considering their town suitable for the location of the security outfit.

Prince Olanipekun who was represented by Mogaji John Odejobi said it was the collective efforts of the whole community to renovate the building and dedicate it to NSCDC for operational usage.

 He stated further that the community would collectively rally round the corps for the achievement and realization of making Surulere safe of any threats to the peaceful coexistence of the dwellers.

On this note, I want to appeal strongly to all and sundries, as well as indigenes of Irasaadu to value the security organization and give the deserved respect, honour, regards and maximum cooperation in their resolve to discharge thier lawful duties optimally” he said.

The Aresa of Iresaadu stressed that the establishment of the NSCDC Command in the town was timely as they were planning to brace up the security architecture of Surulere Local Government in order to drive away any potential problems that might arise in the future.
