The Clerk, Osun State House of Assembly, OSHA, Mr. Simeon Amusan has emerged as Vice-Chairman, Forum of Clerk of States House of Assembly in Nigeria.
The election was conducted recently during a retreat which had in attendance 33 members out of the 36 States of the nation, held in Abuja.
Responding to the outcome of the, Mr. Amusan who said his emergence came as a surprise, explained that the forum is an avenue to share ideas aimed to improve their mode of operations in the states’ parliament.
He stressed that the forum would from time engage in peer review through Zoom meetings to help exchange views from the parliaments.
While emphasizing that his new position would improve the legislative functions in the Osun Assembly, the clerk urged people to strive hard to prove their worth in any position they found themselves in.
Mr. Amusan got 30 votes to defeat his closest rival from Rivers State who polled 3 votes.
This is the first time Osun State is representing the south since the inauguration of the forum in 2021 by the Conference of Speakers.
