The new executives of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists, NAWOJ, Ogun State chapter have been sworn in with a call on them to keep the flag of the association flying.
Speaking at the inauguration of the new executives held at Iwe Iroyin, Oke Ilewo Abeokuta, the vice president of NAWOJ, B Zone, Mrs. Omobola Akingbein urged the new executives to be united and implement programmes that would enhance the welfare of the members.
In her inaugural speech, the new state chairperson of NAWOJ in Ogun State, Mrs. Sekinot Salam-Opebiyi who promised to operate an open-door policy with integrity, passion, and dedication, described the inauguration as the beginning of a new era in the association.
While promising that the new executives would facilitate training both internationally and locally, the new chairperson said Ogun NAWOJ would periodically organize vocational training programmes for young graduates.
She also urged women journalists to uphold the ethics of journalism and remain uncompromised stakeholders in sustaining democracy.
Other members of the executives are the Vice Chairperson, Mrs. Oluwatoyin Adegoke of Radio Nigeria Paramount FM, Abeokuta, the Secretary, Mrs. Omobolaji Adekunle and Assistant Secretary, Mrs Adejoke Adeleye.
