Family of the late Iyalode of Yorubaland, Chief Alaba Lawson has announced that the renowned entrepreneur will be buried on Friday, 8th December, 2023 in Abeokuta.

According to a statement by the Media Adviser to the deceased, Mr Dimeji Kayode-Adedeji, the announcement was made after a family meeting by the presided over by the juju music icon, Chief Ebenezer Obey – Fabiyi.

The statement indicated that the week – long burial activities, beginning from Friday 1st, December would involve different programmes by various associations and groups before a service of songs slated for Thursday, 7th December at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, Abeokuta.

It added that the events would be rounded up with the funeral service at the St James’s African Church, Idi-Ape, Abeokuta while the interment would be strictly a private affair for the family. 

Chief Alaba Lawson died at her home in Abeokuta on Saturday, 28th October, 2023 at age of 72.
