The Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has promised to provide the necessary support to the Nigerian Army in the discharge of its responsibility of protecting the lives and property of the citizens.

Governor Abiodun made this known at the Nigerian Army 2023 West Africa Social Activities held at Alamala Barrack, Abeokuta Ogun State.

The governor who was Represented by his deputy, Mrs Noimot Salako-Oyedele commended the efforts of the Nigerian Army and other sister agencies in addressing insecurity challenges in the state, urged them to redouble their efforts, especially in the face of the myriad of security threats in the nation.

Earlier, the Commander 35 Artillery, Brigadier-General Mohammed Aminu commended all the officers and soldiers of the Brigade for the successes recorded last year and urged them to do more in 2024, while pledging the commitment of the Nigerian army to continue to strengthen its operations. 

He appealed to residents to continue to share credible information that would aid the Brigade’s operations, and also assured them of the sustenance of adequate security.

The 2023 WASA witnessed Cultural Troupe display, Tug of War and presentation of awards to the deserving personnel of the Brigade among others. 

WASA is an annual event organized by Nigerian Army formations across the country to temporarily take officers and soldiers away from their routine military regimentation into a social atmosphere to unwind and interact after an eventful year.
