Ogun state government has described the Awujale and Paramount ruler of Ijebuland, Dr Sikiru Kayode Adetona as an exemplary and practical leader who cherished customs and traditions.
Governor Dapo Abiodun stated this while felicitating Oba Adetona on his 64th Coronation anniversary.
Governor Abiodun stressed that the dedication to humanity and impactful leadership skills of the monarch had contributed to peaceful coexistence, growth and development enjoyed by residents, visitors and investors in Ijebuland.
He prayed to God to grant the monarch sound health and peace of mind to continue to rule the land and solicited the continuous support of all the sons and daughters of the land to enhance development.
Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona, who is the world’s longest-reigning paramount monarch was officially crowned on April 2, 1960, Six months before the country attained independence.
