An Islamic Scholar, Professor Tajudeen Yusuf has emphasized the need for leaders to uphold integrity, justice and equality, while providing the needed guidance to all Nigerians, without ethnic or religious sentiments. 

Professor Yusuf gave the charge at the Arcade Ground, Oke Mosan Abeokuta, during a special Ramadan Iftar organized by the Ogun State Government with the theme “Nation Buiding: Shared Responsibility of Government and Governed,” 

Professor Yusuf admonished those in positions of authority to be more accountable, focused and effective urging them to prioritize the people’s welfare, especially through the provision of basic amenities like good roads, education, affordable healthcare services and other infrastructure. 

Professor Yusuf also encouraged the citizens to be law-abiding and perform their civic duties as responsible citizens, while maintaining harmonious coexistence in the bid to strengthen national peace and development. 

In a remark, Governor Dapo Abiodun emphasized that the collaborative effort of both the government and citizens was needed to enable the country to attain the desired height and enjoined the people to dedicate more time to prayers, even after Ramadan 

Governor Abiodun restated that the present administration in the state would continue to implement programmes and policies that would bring succour to the residents of the state, particularly given the prevailing economic challenges.
