Chief Imam, Ansar-ud-deen Society of Nigeria, Agbowo Branch, Alhaji Abdulfatai Yaqub has called on the government to review the recent increase in the tariff of electricity so as not to cripple the means of likelihood of the people

Alhaji Yaqub, a missioner made the call in a sermon shortly after leading the two rakat prayers at the Eid praying ground.

He explained that many vocations and jobs relied on electricity for its smooth running, saying the increase in the tariff would jack up prices of goods and services as well as ground so many businesses which could render the citizens jobless.

Alhaji Yaqub called on Nigerian leaders to deal with the fear of Allah by delivering on their campaign promises to engender the development of the grassroots

Commenting, the Babaloja general of Oyo state, Alhaji Abdulyekeen Abass frowned at the new electricity tariff, saying it was the principle of trade and investment.

Alhaji Abass who called on the authority concerned to reverse the old tariff noted that the people were yet to recover from the effect of fuel subsidy removal.
