In line with Radio Nigeria’s commitment to uplifting the people, about 200 individuals have been supported with food items and other materials by Paramount FM, Abeokuta towards reducing the economic hardship among residents. 

The beneficiaries were presented with the items at the station’s end-of-the-year get-together and public lecture, held at the Nigerian Union of Pensioners, NUP, Hall, Leme, Abeokuta. 

Delivering the lecture entitled “Communal Lifestyle in the Era of Social and Economic Uncertainties, the Guest Lecturer, Dr Ibidapo Odukoya called for social, religious and economic re-engineering to cater for the less privileged members of society. 

Dr Odukoya, who serves as a Commissioner at the Ogun State House of Assembly Commission, also commended Paramount FM for extending the kind gesture to the public, pointing out that taking care of the vulnerable groups was a good way of building a virile nation. 

In a message to the occasion, the Ogun State Head of Service, Mr Kehinde Onasanya equally applauded the station for helping to project the activities of the state government to residents, giving the assurance that the present administration would continue to partner with Paramount FM for enhanced performance. 

The Head of Service, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information and Strategy, Alhaji Waheed Adesina solicited more efforts in bridging the information gap between the government and the people, particularly on the ISEYA agenda of the state Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun. 

Earlier, the General Manager of Paramount FM, Abeokuta, Mr Akinyinka Akintola had informed the gathering that the programme was aimed at adding value to the people, pointing out that the maiden edition of the public lecture would help to emphasize the importance of communal lifestyle for social peace and cohesion. 

Other dignitaries at the event as well as beneficiaries of the food items took turns in expressing appreciation to Radio Nigeria Paramount FM for putting the programme together with the high point as the merrymaking among the staff and their family members.
