Oyo Govt Donates 25 Million Naira, Vehicles  to Nigeria Legion

Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde has donated the sum of 25 million naira, and gifted 7 vehicles with a promise to include the Nigeria Legion, Oyo State chapter on the new minimum wage salary scale.

He said this at the launch of the Armed Forces Remembrance Day emblem held at the Executive Chamber, Agodi Secretariat, Ibadan as part of activities to commemorate the 2025 Armed Forces Remembrance Day.

Governor Makinde stressed that the cash donation would assist in taking care of the families of fallen heroes and old soldiers alive. 

The governor equally expressed gratitude to the Legion for their selfless service to the country, noting that the 7 vehicles donated would cover the various geopolitical zones as he would deliver more based on effective utilization of the vehicles 

Earlier, the Chairman of Nigeria Legion, Oyo State Chapter, Evangelist Ogunjoko Julius explained that the essence of Remembrance Day was to raise funds and awareness to take care of concerns of war veterans still alive but incapacitated as well as the children and widows of the departed heroes.

Evangelist Ogunjoko called on Nigerians and Non-Nigerians to donate generously to the cause.
