Bodija Explosion Anniversary: Residents Demands Justice

Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde has reiterated his administration commitment to the security of lives and property of residents of the state.

Governor Makinde made this known at the 2024 Bodija Estate explosion remembrance service held at the Bodija Estate Baptist Church, Ibadan.

Represented by the Executive Assistant to the governor on administration, Reverend Idowu Ogedengbe, Engineer Makinde noted that the government would not shield anyone found guilty of wrongdoings in the state.

Governor Makinde while commiserating with families of victims of the devastating explosions of 16th January 2024, urged residents to always report any suspicious object or movement to security agencies.

The governor also assured that the constituted committee on the management and disbursement of the Bodija Estate relief fund would reach those who were meant to be compensated.

In his remark, the President Bodija Estate Residents Association, Mr Muyiwa Bamgbose stressed that the community was demanding justice and transparency so that families of victims could get closure.

Earlier in a sermon, The Reverend Kunle Kiyesi of All Souls Church, Bodija encouraged those who lost families or property to take solace in the Lord.
