The eldest brother to the Oyo State Governor, Sunday Makinde, will be buried this Friday, 7th February 2025
According to a statement by the family, the funeral events will begin on Thursday with a Service of Songs, while the interment will be held on Friday.
A reception comes up after the interment, at the Ibadan Recreation Club, Adamasingba, Ibadan.
The statement adds that a Funeral Thanksgiving Service will be held at the Cathedral of St Peters, Aremo, Ibadan by 10 am at St Peter’s Cathedral, Aremo, Ibadan, on Sunday, 9th February 2025
The statement read: “With total submission to the will of God, the Makinde Family of Aigbofa Compound, Oja’ba, Ibadan, announces the passing of our father, grandfather, brother, uncle and cousin, Engr Olufunmilayo Sunday Makinde, aged 65 years, who joined the Saints Triumphant on Friday, January 24, 2025.
“Funeral arrangements are as follows: On Thursday, 6th February 2025, there will be a Service of Songs at the Remembrance Arcade, Ibadan by 5 p.m.
“On Friday, 7th February 2025, a Funeral Service will be held at the Bishop Akinyele Memorial Anglican Church, Iwo Road, Ibadan by 10 a.m. (strictly by invitation), while the interment, to be attended by family members only, will take place at the Eternal Home, Km 25, Ibadan-Oyo Road.
“Reception is to follow at the Ibadan Recreation Club, Adamasingba, Ibadan.
“On Sunday, 9th February 2025, a Funeral Thanksgiving Service will be held at the Cathedral of St Peters, Aremo, Ibadan by 10 a.m.”
