A multiple accident has claimed seven lives while 8 other persons sustained varying degrees of injuries on Lagos- Ibadan expressway.

The fatal crash, which occurred around 7 a.m., involved a Mack Truck marked SEY363YY, a tanker with registration number T2900LA and a yellow bus marked LSD180YA.

The Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, Ogun Sector Command, Mr Fasakin Akinwumi confirmed the crash in a statement through the Public Education Officer, Mrs Florence Okpe.

Mr Akinwunmi attributed the suspected cause of the multiple crash to excessive speed on the part of the Mack truck which led to loss of control and rammed into the other two vehicles.

He said the injured victims had been taken to the private health facilities in Ibafo, while the dead bodies were taken to a private morgue in Sagamu.

Mr Akinwumi, who visited the crash scene for further investigation, sympathized with the families of the crash victims.
