Host Nation, Atlas Lions of Morocco got to a flying start with a 2-0 win over Comoros in the opening game of the 2025 African Cup of Nations.
Morocco, who will be hoping to win the tournament on home soil, had to wait till the second half to take the lead against Comoros, who are just making their second ever appearance at the AFCON.
Real Madrid forward Brahim Diaz opened the scoring in the 55th minute before substitute El Kaabi made it 2-0 to give the Host a comfortable victory.
Three matches will be decided later today as Mali play Zambia at three o’clock in the afternoon, South Africa take on Angola at six o’clock in the evening, while Egypt tackle Zimbabwe at nine o’clock in the evening.
Super Eagles opening fixture will be against Tanzania tomorrow.
