Former Senate Leader, Senator Teslim Folarin, has urged eligible voters across Oyo State to actively participate in the ongoing Continuous Voters Registration (CVR) exercise by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, describing it as the foundation of democratic participation ahead of the 2027 general election.
Speaking during an event on his tour of the Egbeda/Ona-Ara Federal Constituency, Senator Folarin said massive voter registration would position Oyo State to significantly improve its 2023 electoral performance for President Bola Tinubu in the next general election.
He emphasized that an expanded voter base would deepen democratic legitimacy and guarantee a clearer, more authentic expression of the people’s will at the polls.

The APC chieftain noted that Oyo State occupies a strategic place in national electoral calculations, stressing that coordinated grassroots mobilisation could enable the state to deliver record-breaking results in the South-West and across Nigeria.
Senator Folarin specifically called on youths, newly eligible voters who have just turned eighteen, and residents yet to update their voter records to act swiftly within the registration window.
He described voter registration as both a civic duty and a decisive step toward consolidating Nigeria’s democratic gains.
Reaffirming his commitment to unity of purpose and active citizen engagement, Senator Folarin said sustained participation would ensure the South-West emerges as a formidable and decisive voting bloc on Nigeria’s democratic path to 2027.
