Ogun State House of Assembly has paid glowing tributes to the wife of the first civilian Governor of the State, Chief Olabisi Onabanjo, late Madam Lucia Onabanjo, describing her as a strong pillar who contributed significantly to the developmental strides recorded in the state between 1979 and 1983.
The Speaker of the House, Mr Oludaisi Elemide, led other lawmakers to honour the former First Lady, shortly after announcing the death of the matriarch who died last week at the age of 100.
Mr Elemide described the deceased as a woman of virtue with strong moral character, noting that she stood firmly behind her husband and played a supportive and stabilizing role during his administration.
The lawmakers later observed a minute silence in honour of the late Madam Lucia Onabanjo.
