Ogundoyin Backs Makinde after Supreme Court Verdict

By Mosope Kehinde

The Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, OYHA, Mr Adebo Ogundoyin, has reaffirmed his loyalty to Governor Seyi Makinde following the Supreme Court judgment on the internal crisis within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

In a statement, Mr Ogundoyin described the ruling as a turning point that validates the governor’s position during one of the party’s most turbulent periods.

He noted that the decision goes beyond a legal conclusion, reflecting recognition for leaders who remained steadfast amid pressure and internal divisions.

Reflecting on the crisis, the Speaker said Governor Makinde’s people-centred approach distinguished him from his peers.

Mr Ogundoyin also likened the governor’s leadership style to the democratic traditions associated with the late Chief Obafemi Awolowo, Chief Samuel Ladoke Akintola, and Chief Bola Ige, noting that his governance approach has secured him a place in Oyo State’s political history.

He pledged continued support for the administration, assuring that the political structure built under Governor Makinde would be sustained and further strengthened.
