Nigerians have been advised to screen those contesting for the 2023 general election to enable them elect those they can trust.

The grand Khalifah of Tijaniyyah Islamic Movement in Nigeria, His eminence Muhammadu Lamido Sanusi gave the advice in Abeokuta at a reception in his honour by a Chieftain of Egba Muslim Council, Chief Tayo Showunmi.

Khalifah Lamido Sanusi also urged Nigerians to properly screen those seeking their prayers for elections, advising them to not only pray for those they could trust but also vote for them at elections.

While answering a question on his joining partisan politics noted that he has no intention of contesting for elective posts noting that he was satisfied with his current status as a religious leader.

The former Central Bank governor was received on the visit by members of the Egba Muslim council including the Chief Imam, Alhaji Sahadallah Bamigbola and the Showunmi family.
