Oyo State Ministry of Youth and Sports has advocated the need for corps members’ employers to always acquaint the youths with the code of conduct of civil service to prepare them for future challenges.

Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Mr Seun Fakorede made the call while meeting with corps members in the ministry.

Mr Fakorede, who regretted that most corps members posted to the state’s civil service in the past had proven to be highly inexperienced and ignorant of work ethics, said the development informed the need to familiarize with the new corps members within the working environment of the civil service.

Mr Fakorede charged the serving corps members to maximize the one-year service as their stepping stone to success in life.

He therefore instructed the corps members to completely shun absenteeism at their places of primary assignment.

While reiterating the state government’s commitment to the welfare and wellbeing of corps members, the commissioner advised the corps members to know and abide by the norms and culture of their host community as well as the work ethics of their place of primary assignment.

He implored the corps members to be dedicated to the service of the nation through their various places of primary assignment, wishing them a successful stay in Oyo State.

In a remarks, a corps member lauded Governor Seyi Makinde for his commitment to youth development in the state.
