The Federal Ministry of Mines and Steel Development says it has entered into a partnership with relevant security agencies including the police, the army and EFCC, to tackle illegal mining activities across the nation.
The Minster, Mines and Steel Development, Mr. Olamilekan Adegbite, made this known in Asaba, at a sensitization programme on mining activities in Delta State with the theme: Understanding Benefits of Mining License and Royalty Payments.
Oghenero Eghweree reports that the Minister warned that any quarry company operating without a lease or license is illegal and subject to a fine.
