Oyo state chapter of Radio Television Theater and Arts Worker’s Union (RATTAWU) wants security to be beefed up at Amuludun 99.1 FM

The Chairman of Oyo state chapter of RATTAWU, Comrade Aribatishe Adedayo made this promise when he and some members of RATTAWU paid an inspection visit to Amuludun FM on the recent attack by hoodlums.

Mr.Adebayo sympathised with some of the members of staff who were on duty during the incident also appreciate the station’s members of staff for their calmness and dedication to work.

The RATTAWU president however called on security agencies to bring the perpetrators of the attack to book.

In his remarks, the secretary of RATTAWU, comrade Olayade Kayode sympathised with staff of the corporation on the incident and assured them that RATTAWU will do everything within its power to prevent future occurrence of such ugly incident.

Oyo State Commissioner of Police, Mrs. Ngozi Onadeko says the perpetrators of the dastardly attack on the premises of Radio Nigeria, Amuludun 99.1 FM, Moniya, Ibadan, would be made to face justice.

This is contained in a statement issued by the Oyo State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, DSP. Adewale Osifeso concerning the attack by some hoodlums on Amuludun FM Premises which left four cars and the glass door at the entrance of the media house damaged.

Mr. Osifeso explained that preliminary investigation gathered reveal that following the face-off between members of Soludero, a local vigilante group and some criminal elements around Sasa Area, Ojo, Akinyele LGA of Oyo State while on routine patrol, on Saturday 31st July 2021, at about 0400HRS during which one “Kabati”, a member of the criminal gang sustained gunshot injuries and was confirmed dead at the hospital.

He said consequent upon this, the hoodlums in their numbers stormed the Soludero presumed office, located at the premises of the Federal Radio Coporation of Nigeria, Amuludun 99.1 FM, Moniya Ibadan in a bid to launch a reprisal attack.

The PPRO said upon the arrival of the hoodlums, they became agitated as none of their targets was on sight.

Consequently, the windscreens of four vehicles parked in the premises were broken along with the glass door at the entrance of the media outfit, inferring that the attack was not targeted directly at the media outfit but members of the vigilante group.

Mr. Osifeso added that investigations into the matter are currently ongoing and developments would be communicated accordingly.

A Non Governmental Organisation, (N.G.O), Awanat Fijabi Foundation has donated a console to Amuludun 99.1 FM, Moniya, Ibadan.

While presenting the console to the General Manager of Amuludun 99.1 FM, Reverend Niyi Dahunsi, the founder, Alhaja Awanat Fijabi said she  donated the console to Amuludun FM due to the station’s various programmes  which has continued to  add values to the lives of people, both within and outside Oyo state.

Alhaja Fijabi enjoined other NGOs to take a cue from what she has done and keep the flag flying by boosting the broadcasting industry.

In a remark, the General Manager, Amuludun 99.1 FM, Reverend Niyi Dahunsi expressed happiness while receiving the console from the donor saying it was timely.

Reverend Dahunsi also thanked Alhaja Awanat Fijabi for making good her words.

Reverend Dahunsi who implored other well meaning Nigerians to extend their generosity to media houses in the country promised that the station will continue to provide listeners with interesting programmes.
