The Anambra State Police Command has rescued a three-year-old girl in Nnobi, Idemili South Local Government Area, following reports of conspiracy, child theft, and illegal harbouring.

This was released in a press statement by the Anambra State Police Command Spokesperson, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, on Saturday.

The child was allegedly abducted by Chioma Anioma, an apprentice in the victim’s household. After realising police were closing in, Chioma reportedly sold the child and fled to Calabar, Cross River State, to evade arrest.

The girl was abducted in Atani, Ogbaru Local Government Area, but was rescued in Nnobi, Idemili LGA, after being sold.

Ikenga confirmed that officers from the Rapid Response Squad, Awkuzu, recovered the child in the early hours of Friday through persistent, intelligence-led operations. The child has since been safely reunited with her parents.

The statement read in part: “The Anambra State Police Command wishes to inform the public that operatives attached to the Rapid Response Squad, Awkuzu, successfully recovered a stolen three-year-old girl following a case transferred from Ogbaru Division, Atani, involving conspiracy, child stealing, and harbouring.

“The operatives rescued the child at Nnobi, Idemili South LGA, and have since reunited her with her parents.

“Preliminary investigations revealed the child was stolen by Miss Chioma Anioma, an apprentice in the victim’s family. Upon realising police were closing in, the suspect fled to Calabar after selling the child to another suspect who remains at large.

“To evade further police pursuit, Chioma abandoned the child at Nnobi before alerting the parents to her location.

“Intensive efforts continue to identify and arrest all suspects involved in the abduction and trafficking syndicate.”

SP Tochukwu Ikenga disclosed that the command began investigating a child theft report received on September 4, 2025.

Swift action led by officers from the Gender Unit of the State Criminal Investigation Department in Awka resulted in the arrest of the prime suspect, Samuel Ibe. His confession subsequently led to the arrest of his mother, Agatha Ejeweh (35), and younger brother, Ejeweh Chigozie Chidera (15).

A stray dog foraging for food has retrieved an abandoned baby boy in a forest in Abagana, Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State.

The stray dog was said to have carried the infant across a busy road and kept him in a public glare, apparently for passersby to pick up for rehabilitation.

The baby was said to have been found by the dog in a plastic bag in which he was abandoned in the forest. The baby who was said to be stable might have been abandoned in the forest for about two days before the dog discovered him.

Corroborating the story in a trending video online, some women believed to be local midwives were seen cleaning the baby while condemning the perpetrators of the heinous crime.

The women and a male in the video wondered how someone would carry a baby for nine months, only to throw such a child away after delivery.

While thanking God for saving the baby from being devoured by animals, they implored perpetrators of such acts to hand over babies to people to take care of instead of throwing them away.

The police are yet to comment on the matter as of now. Calls put across to the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in Anambra Tochukwu Ikenga did not go through.

A yet-to-be-identified domestic servant has allegedly killed his employer, a lecturer at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra State, after hitting him with a pestle during an argument.

The deceased said to be a lecturer at the Psychology Department of the institution, was attacked with the pestle when a fight ensued between him and the domestic servant.

It was gathered that the incident happened on Friday night at Ifite village in Awka, the Anambra State capital.

A video currently circulating on social media, showed the suspect as he confessed to having killed the lecturer with a pestle.

The suspect also confessed that he hit the deceased with the pestle about three times before he fell to the ground.

He said, “When he came back, he told me to cook rice. And as I was cooking the rice, he asked me why I did not wash plates. I did not reply. He then asked why I wasn’t responding to his question.

“In the process, he slapped me. But I told him I usually have ear problems, and that people don’t slap me. As I was saying that, he angrily asked if I was still talking while he was talking. And therefore, he slapped me again and brought out Cain and started flogging me all over.

“Then in the process, I got angry, and we started fighting. It was also in the process of that fight that I picked up the pestle in the kitchen and hit him on the head.”

During interrogation, the suspect who first denied killing his master, later confessed to the crime after he was thoroughly beaten when his moves became suspicious.

A family source said, “While friends and relatives of the deceased were taking him to the hospital that night for medical attention after the encounter, the suspect was attempting to choke him to death right inside the vehicle where he was sitting close to him allegedly to conceal his atrocious acts.

“It was in the process that we discovered what was going on and therefore we started suspecting him. As that was going on also, the victim who was still alive then, used his last strength to mention the suspect’s name, before he finally gave up the ghost.”

“In his confessions, the suspect first said that it was the girlfriend of the deceased who visited him that night that attacked him. However, he eventually confessed that he was the person who killed him with a pestle.”

The suspect was also said to have bruised the deceased’s body with a knife after he became unconscious to make it look as if he was attacked by a third party.

When contacted on the development, the state police spokesperson, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, said there was no report of the incident before him, adding that he would make enquiries from the command where the incident happened and get back.

Thousands of ad hoc workers for the Anambra State governorship election have resigned due to fear of attacks by members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had in May increased the polling units in Anambra State from 4,608 to 5,720 with about 10,000 ad hoc workers required for the governorship poll.

However, despite its declaration of preparedness, many of those who signed up for the role have resigned.

A source said: “INEC is now short of thousands of ad-hoc staff members due to IPOB instructions. Those who initially signed up have now resigned en-masse.”

Meanwhile, there had been a poor response by ad hoc workers who will conduct the poll because of the security situation in the southeast region, particularly with the activities of IPOB.

The group had issued a 12-day ultimatum to the Nigerian Government for the “unconditional release” of their leader, Nnamdi Kanu, failure of which the November 6 governorship election in Anambra State may not hold.

IPOB in a statement signed by its Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, on Sunday, gave the Nigerian Government up till November 4 to release Kanu unconditionally, or it would commence a one-week lockdown in the region effective November 5.

The group explained that the one-week sit-at-home order, which would end on November 10, was to press for the release of their leader whom the Nigerian Government was prepared to keep in incarceration ad infinitum for nothing.

The statement read: “Following the adjournment of our great leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s court case to 10th of November 2021 by the Federal High Court, Abuja, we, the great movement and family of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), wish to inform Biafrans, friends of Biafra and lovers of freedom that IPOB will lock down Biafra land from November 5 to 10 except Sunday, November 7, a day our people worship the Almighty God, Chukwu Okike Abiama, if the Nigeria government fails to release our leader unconditionally before November 4, 2021.

“Our leader, Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu must be released unconditionally on or before November 4, 2021, because he has not committed any offence known to any law. Failure to release our leader on or before November 4, 2021, our one-week sit-at-home begins on November 5, 2021, till November 10.”

The statement continued: “Although we quite understand the pains and adverse effects of this option on our people, we are compelled to take it to achieve a better purpose in the collective interest of Biafrans.

“We have taken time to analyse what transpired on October 21 when our leader was arraigned in court and discovered that the Federal Government is not sincere, and only wants to humiliate him and keep him perpetually in DSS custody to rot there.

See also I’m hale and hearty-EFCC chair Bawa breaks silence
“We all saw how lawyers, journalists, Igbo delegates and respected traditional rulers and other people who came from all around the world to witness his court case were restricted and denied access into the court premises by security agents who kept them outside under the scorching heat of the sun. What a humiliation and wickedness!

“We cannot accept that anymore. We can never allow our leader Onyendu Kanu to be tried secretly, and we can never also allow him to be tried under Sharia law under any guise. Nigeria must follow international laws in handling our leader.

“Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is in a DSS dungeon today because of his passion for Biafra’s independence, and we must sacrifice all we can to ensure that he regains his freedom. He has sacrificed so much for us all, so we must be prepared to sacrifice a little for him.

“Unless the Federal Government releases him unconditionally before November 4, we shall sacrifice one week for him as a warning protest to convey to our oppressors, that Nnamdi Kanu represents over 70 million Biafrans.

“He is innocent of all the charges preferred against him. As long as he is in detention, our individual businesses do not matter so much because he is suffering for us all and we can’t abandon him.”

While regretting the inconveniences that the development may cause the people, it stated that it is a “necessary sacrifice we need to make until we have our full independence. Nobody resident in Biafra land is expected to flout this directive as doing so amounts to challenging the will of the people on the Biafra project.

“This one-week sit-at-home is also to let our oppressors understand that we are not going to tolerate any plan to torment or abandon our leader in the DSS’ custody through frivolous court adjournment. Any plans to subject him to trauma in detention through long adjournment while real terrorists and mass murderers are having fun across the country cannot fly.

“Nnamdi Kanu must be freed because he committed no crime. Asking for a referendum so that Biafrans will decide whether or not they want to continue as part of Nigeria is no crime. He should not suffer for seeking justice for his people.

“We have been enslaved and caged enough by the Fulani-controlled Federal Government of Nigeria and its allies. If we shut down Biafra land just for one week to secure our permanent freedom, it is worth the sacrifice. Everybody should brace up for this sacrifice.”

News Analysis

In recent times, there have been cases of men who died during sex romps.

For instance, there was a trending video in which a sixty-year-old man purportedly died during sex with a twenty-two-year-old lady in Anambra State.

Early this year, a lady, Victory Amaize was arrested by the police in Abuja after her lover died during a marathon sex session.

Also, in Lagos, a father of two died during a sex romp with his female lover.

Commonly found at the scenes of these incidents were sachets/packets of used sex enhancement drugs, allegedly used by the men.

Further interrogations of the female lovers, revealed that the men had used the drugs and energy drinks prior to them having marathon sex.

It is reasonable to believe that recreational use of erectile drugs has exceeded medical use.

Sex pills are taken by people for a few specific sex-related problems or to improve the quality of their sex life in general, but, there are also pills that are unlicensed, herbal, or sold over-the-counter, which are not proven to work.

Unfortunately, so many people do not know that sex pills are not for people who are hypertensive and those that have a specific sex-related problem.

Such drugs are meant for those dealing with erectile dysfunction, and premature ejaculation which is common among men over forty years of age, while men under forty rarely need such sex enhancement drugs.

Though sex enhancement drugs are generally safe, especially on doctor’s prescription, there are definitely some side effects to watch out for, especially if they are overused and in certain cases, the side effects can be extremely dangerous.

Some of the side effects of using sex enhancement drugs include headache, congestion, flushed skin, upset stomach, muscle pains, and allergic reactions.

Others are dizziness, sudden hearing and vision loss, permanent damage to the penis, heart attack, stroke, and death.

Death might occur in those who have a case or history of heart attack, stroke, or serious allergic reaction to the drug.

Men who have underlying medical conditions might also be at a higher risk of death, but the situation should always be evaluated by a doctor prior to starting any medication.

Before thinking about what pill to take to boost sex life, it is a good idea to think about what people want from their sex life and what might be the best and safest way to make it happen.

Often, people can improve their sex life by making changes to lifestyles, getting counselling or therapy, or talking things through with their partners.

People should equally eat more healthy foods and less sugary foods.

Fruits such as dates, avocado, tiger nuts and watermelon can boost libido naturally.

Men should as well consume more cooked unripe plantains, which according to research will make them last longer sexually.

Also, it is on record that regular exercise can help them perform optimally.

Above all, no human being should take sex enhancement drugs with the primary aim of impressing their partners sexually.
