A Petrol laden tanker has fallen at Ita Maya area along Ogbomoso- Odo Oba road causing gridlock on the route.

The tanker, which fell in a diagonal position across the road has stalled all vehicular movement, forcing road users to explore alternative routes.

A police officer, who spoke to Radio Nigeria at the scene, said the lone accident occurred around ten o’clock yesterday, Wednesday evening.

He said the driver immediately came to report at the police station.

The police officer said they had informed the firefighters and NUPENG hoping to get a reaction from them.

However, at half-past eight in the morning, the tanker was still on the road with fuel dripping from it and no fire combating mechanism had been put in place.

Some road users who expressed frustration on recurrent gridlock on the route appealed to the government to rehabilitate the road to prevent carnage.
