The second edition of the FRCN Kids Football Challenge, Oyo zone kicked off yesterday with four matches at the football pitch of Olivet Baptist High School, Oyo town.

The first game of the day saw Olivet Baptist High School defeat Fiditi Grammar School by a lone goal, while Community Commercial High School Ilora and Baptist Secondary school Ilora played a 1-1 draw in the second game.

In the third game of the day, Community High School Fiditi beat Ilora Baptist Grammar School two 2-1, while Oba Adeyemi High School, Oyo thrashed Sped International Secondary School, Akinmorin 3 nil.

In today’s fixtures, Olivet Baptist High School will play Community High School Fiditi, Community Commercial High School Ilora tackles Sped International Secondary School, Fiditi Grammar School battles Baptist Secondary school Ilora while Ilora Baptist Grammar School two will play Oba Adeyemi High School, Oyo.

Radio Nigeria Ibadan Kids Football Challenge begins tomorrow in Ibadan, Oyo State capital. 

The Kids football challenge is strictly an age grade football tournament for under 12 pupils from sixteen selected secondary schools in Ibadan and Oyo town.

The tournament which will be held at the University of Ibadan football field is for the eight participating schools in the Ibadan Zone, while that of Oyo Zone will be held next month. 

The Oyo State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Mr. Seun Fakorede, and the state Commissioner for Education, Mr. Abiodun Abdul-Raheem are some of the dignitaries expected at the opening ceremony billed for ten o clock in the morning.
