Igbo Community Lauds Kingmakers For Resolving Issues Preventing Emergence Of New Olubadan

Ndigbo in Oyo State has lauded the Olubadan-in-Council for resolving the case preventing the new Olubadan of Ibadan from being enthroned.

This is contained in a statement in Ibadan signed by Ezendigbo of Ibadan land and Oyo State, Dr Alex Anozie.

He commended the Olubadan in council for resolving the problem by withdrawing the case from court thus paving the way for the emergence of the new Olubadan Designate, High Chief Lekan Balogun.

Dr Anozie lauded Governor Seyi Makinde for his intervention in the matter which led to the withdrawal of the court case.

He said the Igbo community in the state was very proud of the conduct of the Olubadan-in-Council by allowing peace to reign for the growth and development of Ibadanland.

“The entire Ndigbo in Ibadan and Oyo state and I are very proud of the Olubadan-in-Council individually and collectively.
Their conducts are worthy of emulation.”

Dr Anozie prayed God to make Ibadan witness peace, progress and development during the reign of the new monarch while God should as well give the Olubadan Designate, High Chief Lekan Balogun long life and sound health to enjoy the throne of his forefathers.

At last, Kingmakers Settle Rift, Nominate Lekan Balogun As Next Olubadan

The Olubadan-in- council has finally nominated the Otun Olubadan of Ibadaland, High Chief Lekan Balogun as the next Olubadan of Ibadanland.

It was gathered that the decision was arrived at during a meeting held today at the residence of Balogun of Ibadanland, High Chief Owolabi Olakuleyin.

The meeting was moderated by the state government’s representative who is also the Director of Administration and General Services, Ibadan South East Local Government.

In attendance were the Olubadan Designate, High Chief Lekan Balogun,
Balogun of Ibadanland, High Chief Owolabi Olakuleyin, Osi Olubadan, High Chief Rasidi Ladoja and Otun Balogun of Ibadanland , High Chief Tajudeen Ajibola.

Others are Ashipa Olubadan, High Chief Eddy Oyewole, Osi Balogun of Ibadanland, High Chief Lateef Gbadamosi- Adebimpe,
Ashipa Balogun of Ibadanland, High Chief Kolawole Adegbola, and Ekerin Balogun of Ibadanland High Chief Dada Ishioye.

Oyo State High Court had on Tuesday dismissed a case instituted by some members of Olubadan in Council which had stalled the enthronement of the new monarch.

With the development, Oyo State Government is now expected to announce the appointment of High Chief Lekan Balogun as the
new Olubadan of Ibadanland.
