Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has condoled with the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state over the death of its former chairman, Prince Adegboyega Famodun.

In a statement by his spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, the Governor reflected on Famodun’s long-standing relationship with the Adeleke family during his years in the United States, describing him as a distinguished politician who made notable contributions to Osun’s political development.

Governor Adeleke also extended condolences to the people of Igbajo and urged prayers for the repose of the late politician.

He prayed for strength for the bereaved family and members of the opposition to bear the loss.

Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke has approved the construction of first dual carriage way in Iwo land.

Governor Adeleke who announced the approval at the 2024 Iwo Day celebration, said the dualisation of Adeeke-Odoori road would be done in two phases.

The governor, who was represented by his spokesperson, Mallam Rasheed Olawale directed the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure to engage stakeholders in the host community on the proposed highway.

He directed the ministry to commence the dualisation project from January assuring that the road would be delivered under record time.

“The dualisation of Adeeke-Odoori road will be done in two phases. The first phase will run from Odoori to the Post Office with a branching to the front of the palace from the Roundabout. The second phase will run from the Post Office to Adeeke junction. The dualised freeway will have full solar light from Odoori to Adeeke.” Governor Adeleke explained.

Governor Adeleke stated said his administration will ensure the use local personnel, local suppliers and local engineers to deepen prosperity by ensuring that Oṣùn State money circulates within the state.He maintained that Iwo people would benefit from the recently launched Imole Agropreneur Project which targets a Public-Private Partnership arrangement to raise a new generation of Agropreneurs to be supported by the government.

“I am in a hurry to take Osun to the promised land of advanced infrastructure, commendable high human development index, well developed agro-industrial society and a community of shared prosperity”, the governor noted.

While appealing the traditional rulers for peace, unity and developmental collaboration, Governor Adeleke reaffirmed the law that Oluwo of Iwoland is and remains the President of Iwo Council of Traditional Rulers, urging the Oluwo to continue to exercise his vested powers with all sense of accommodation

Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke says he will be holding a series of Town Hall meetings tagged “Ipade Imole” to serve as an accountability forum for government activities.

The governor in a statement by his spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed declared that the forum will be held on a quarterly basis with a focus on detailed reports of government finance, revenue inflows, expenditure and ongoing and completed projects.

The “Ipade Imole” will involve relevant government agencies delivering reports of activities of each ministry to give details of ongoing projects, how much it costs, stages of completion and other contractual details to the public through the forum.

Governor Adeleke said aside from being a forum for accountability on the side of the government, it would also provide an avenue for policy ideas from civil society, media and the public into the government policy processes.

The quarterly forum will involve participants from various sectors of society while, interested members of the public, media and civil society will also have the opportunity to visit project sites and assess stages and quality of work done.

He assured the people of Osun State that each forum will equip them with publications on government activities and also avail them the space to question and interface with relevant agencies and officials.

Governor Adeleke who said his 100 days of activities by the end of March marked the first mini “Ipade Imole” added that the first expanded forum will hold by June ending at a senatorial district to be announced.

The Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke has launched a six-pronged project to touch the lives of Osun masses in all the local government areas of the state.

This is contained in a statement by the Governor’s Spokesperson, Mallam Rasheed Olawale.

According to the statement, The six-pronged project includes, the provision of potable water in 332 towns and Villages, one in each of the 332 wards in the State, complete renovation of 30 schools, one per local government, provision of potable water and at least 50 computers with internet services in each of the renovated schools.

Others are the rehabilitation of 332  primary health care centres, one in each of the 332 wards in the State, enrollment of 3000 Osun Citizens in the Health Insurance Scheme, free of charge, for easy access to Health Care at the grassroots and rehabilitation of nine major roads, one per federal constituency.

The Governor is also implementing an ongoing ICT/technology innovations programme which includes the making of the first State ICT Policy, the first State Innovation Policy, domestication of Nigeria’s Startup Act and Goggle Mapping of Osun state.

The statement reads, “All the above programmes designed to touch the lives of the masses and the youth are ongoing for full delivery by the time the administration clocks 100 days in the office”.

“Our administration is working to deliver on our electoral promises. We are targeting projects that touch the lives of the masses. I want the people to feel the impact of governance”, Governor Adeleke stated.

The Governor also directed all local governments that have not submitted their selected location for each of the projects, to do so, so as to meet the deadlines set for the project implementation.

Governor Adeleke also urged community volunteers working on the Google Mapping Project to accelerate the updating of their areas on Google Map to boost local business and connectivity in the state.

The Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke has felicitated with Christians on the occasion of the birth of Jesus Christ, urging them to celebrate the Yuletide with love.

Governor Adeleke, in a statement issued by his Spokesperson, Mallam Rasheed Olawale described Christmas as a moment that reflects the love of God for mankind.

The governor called for a renewed commitment to the service of humanity in line with the true teaching of Jesus Christ.

The statement reads, “This season is another opportunity to rededicate ourselves to the true teachings of Jesus Christ, which has love at its heart. In love, we will have no trouble enduring each others’ differences and live in harmony, which holds the key to prosperity”.

He noted in the message, “As much as I share in the joy that comes with the period, may I indulge us not to forget the very essence of the celebration, and in that regard, ensure we use the occasion to bond with our neighbours and more, help the needy.”

While enjoining Christians to be moderate in their celebrations, Governor Adeleke called for prayer for the country and Osun State in particular to overcome the myriad of challenges that has hampered progress and impactful governance.

The governor directed the various committees in charge of rice distribution to be fair and avoid partisan considerations noting that the rice distribution was necessary to cushion the effect of the hard times on the citizenry.

Governor Adeleke projected a better situation for the people in the New Year, charging them to prepare their PVCs to elect good leaders that will serve their interests.

Osun state governor, Ademola Adeleke has ordered the immediate suspension of all mining firms operating the state’s mining licences.

This is contained in a statement issued by the state governor’s spokesperson, Mallam Rasheed Olawale.

The governor had directed all operators to report to the Committee on Assets Verification and Recovery chaired by B.T Salami with copies of their Memorandum of Understanding which govern their relationship with the state government.

The statement reiterates the State government’s resolve to recover all funds owed to Osun State and stop the reaping of state assets from mining to revenue collection.

The statement concludes by directing operators to report to the committee on Monday by noon.
