Ondo State Governor, Mr Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has applauded the grassroots and network reach of Radio Nigeria in the broadcast Industry in the country.

The Governor spoke when he received the outgoing zonal director , FRCN Ibadan Zonal Station, Mrs Bolatito Joseph, Positive FM General manager, Mrs Olubunmi Olalere and other management team of Positive FM.

He particularly commended Radio Nigeria for it’s uniqueness, professionalism and unbeatable reach and professionalism which the governor noted made the station outstanding.

Speaking on enormous cost of funding broadcast stations , Governor Akeredolu suggested switching to solar energy to reduce reliance on diesel , cutting unnecessary costs and putting assets to profitable use.

He then promised to assist Positive FM Akure in its quest to enhance quality service to the people of the state.

Earlier, the Zonal director FRCN Ibadan zonal station Mrs Joseph condoled with the state government on the Owo church attack while also appreciating the governor for leading the cause to protect the people in the southwest.

Ondo State Governor, Mr Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has solicited more collaboration between the Nigeria Police force and other security agencies to fight insecurity.

The governor stated this when playing host to the Assistant Inspector General of Police, zone 17, Mr Yunnus Mohammed Akira and his team.

Mr Akeredolu while welcoming the new AIG said the cooperation of the Nigeria Police and other security officials was much needed to comb the nooks and crannies of the state,tackle robbery, cultism and other nefarious activities in the society.

Governor Akeredolu while commending the men of the Nigeria Police force for their effort in securing lives and property further make case for improved man power for financial institutions and other agencies.

Ondo State Governor, Mr Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, has nominated two new commissioners designate.

The two nominees are Akinwumi Samson Sowore and Prince Joseph Adeboboye Ologbese.

Their names have been forwarded to the State House of Assembly for screening, clearance and confirmation.

Akinwumi Samson Sowore is from Ese-Odo Local Government Area while Prince Joseph Adeboboye Ologbese is from Akoko Southwest Local Government Area.

The two nominees are expected to replace the two former commissioners from the local government areas, Donald Ojogo and Gboyega Adefarati, who resigned their appointments to contest elective positions.

Ekiti State Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi says he is still in consultation with monarchs, governors and others before declaring his intention officially to run for the presidency in the 2023 general elections

Dr Fayemi spoke when he visited the governor of Ondo State, Mr Oluwarotimi Akeredolu in Akure.

The Ekiti helmsman also visited the Olowo of Owo, Oba Gbadegesin Ogunoye, the Deji Of Akure Oba Aladetoyinbo Aladelusi and former Afenifere leader, Chief Reuben Fasonranti.

Fayemi, who is the Chairman of the Governors Forum, said Nigeria needed an experienced leader capable of improving on the developmental structure of President Muhammadu Buhari 

In a remark, Governor Akeredolu appreciated Dr Fayemi and his entourage for the visit and wished him well in his consultations

Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo has challenged political office holders to see their positions as rare privilege to serve the people.

Professor Osinbajo who is one of the APC presidential aspirants stated this while in Akure to seek the support of Ondo APC delegates in the coming primary Election.

Our correspondent reports that on arrival, the Vice President received a rousing reception from the airport by excited residents .

Professor Osinbajo while addressing APC members said Nigeria needed a man that would serve the nation .

Earlier, Ondo state governor, Mr Oluwarotimi Akeredolu in a remark prayed for a more prosperous Nigeria.

Professor Osinbanjo also paid homage to the palace of the Deji of Akure Oba Aladetoyinbo Aladelusi.

Ondo State Governor, Mr Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, has congratulated the Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, on the occasion of his 65th birthday.

Governor Akeredolu saluted the Vice President for his commitment and dedication to national development and nation-building.

The Governor described the Vice President as a friend and colleague with endearing qualities which have distinguished him as a sterling personality.

“Very unassuming, Vice President Osinbajo is a man of many parts. His wealth of experience in law and by extension in the service of the people, stand him out as a reservoir of knowledge.

“A legal luminary, Professor Osinbajo has deployed his versatility in law to the admiration of all, especially in the affairs of the nation. He is one Vice President who exhibits admirable values.” The Governor said.

Ondo State Governor, Mr Oluwarotimi Akeredolu,SAN, has congratulated the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Akure South/North Federal Constituency Bye-Election, Otunba Mayokun Lawson Alade over his victory at the election.

Governor Akeredolu also congratulated the APC for the good performance at the poll. He added that the victory has further confirmed that Ondo is an APC state.

“I want to commend the people of Akure South/North Federal constituency for the peaceful conduct during yesterday’s election. The people voted the candidate of their choice without violence and rancor

“The beauty of democracy is what we have seen. Elections are put in place to reflect the wishes and aspirations of the people. Yesterday, the people of Akure South/North Federal constituency trooped out and spoke with their votes.

“The fact that the election was peaceful, free and fair justifies our penchant for peace in the sunshine state. I congratulate our people in Akure South/North for the impressive outing.” He said.

The Governor, while also saluting the APC members for working assiduously for the party, described the victory as well deserved.

“I urge the winner to be magnanimous in victory and reach to all co-contestants in the interest of the federal constituency. Election is over, it is now time to drive development that will benefit the people, put smile on their faces and engender good governance.

Ondo State Governor, Mr Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, has said his government will not allow criminals masquerading as herdsmen to overrun the state under any guise.

Governor Akeredolu, who vowed to bring to justice the killer herdsmen terrorising some communities, assured of more security presence in some areas of the state.

The Governor spoke on Tuesday in his office while receiving on courtesy visit representatives of Auga Community led by the Alauga of Auga-Akoko, Oba Samuel Agunloye.

Mr Akeredolu, who frowned at the incessant attacks on farmers and their farmlands, especially in the bordering towns, said increased security presence will be deployed.

He charged the people to also be prepared and report suspected criminals to security agencies on time, saying his administration will not allow killer herdsmen to overrun the state.

The Governor also called on traditional rulers in the state to work with the Amotekun Corps and other security agencies for proper security of their domain.

Governor Akeredolu emphasized that the Iboropa-Auga/Ase/Ikaram road is one of the roads slated to be constructed under the Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP).

On renovation of Auga Community Grammar School, Auga Akoko, Governor Akeredolu said the time has come for communities to come up with various strategies towards developing their schools, saying old students associations and the communities must also join hands in developing the schools in their localities.

Oba Agunloye appreciated the Governor on behalf of the Auga Community for the various infrastructural development across the state.

The remains of the late Televangelist, prophet T.B Joshua have been laid to rest.
Prophet T.B Joshua who died on 5th of June, 2021 at the age of fifty seven was buried at a particular spot in the church in accordance with his wish during his life time.
Ondo State Governor, Mr Oluwarotimi Akeredolu had earlier described Founder of the Synagogue Church of all Nations, Late Prophet Temitope Balogun Joshua as a rare gem, humble, a worthy citizen and a true son of the state.
Governor Akerodolu gave the admonitions during the final burial rites of Prophet T.B Joshua in Lagos state.
The Governor said the humanitarian gesture of the prophet had touched lives of many irrespective of tribe and religion including his ho,town, Arigidi-Akoko.
Mr Akerodolu encouraged other men of God to imbibe Prophet T.B Joshua’s exemplary life by preaching and practicing love.
The Governor commiserated with the family, church and people of Arigidi-Akoko and prayed to God to give them fortitude to bear the loss.

Ondo State which was established on February 3rd, 1976 by the Murtala Mohammed administration has clocked 45 years.

As one of the thirty-six states in the federation, Ondo State located in the south-western zone of Nigeria is made up of eighteen council areas.

The state which lies entirely in the tropics and is bounded in the north by Ekiti and Kogi States, in the east by Edo state, in the west by Osun and Ogun States and in the south by the Atlantic ocean, covers over fourteen thousand square kilometers of land.

In political governance, Ondo State has had seventeen military and civilian administrations starting from Wing Commander David Ikpeme till the present governor, Mr Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.

Meanwhile, residents of the state have expressed their views about the level of development in Ondo State in the last forty-five years and then demanded that more be done.

Basorun Sehinde Arogbofa who was part of the struggle to have the state created said the people were happy that governance was brought closer to them but hammered on quality governance.

Also speaking, a don at Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, Dr Dayo Afe asked the government in the state to focus on infrastructure development.

Others who spoke with Radio Nigeria charged the government to be committed to more people-oriented projects.

Ondo State Governor, Mr Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has presented a sum of one hundred and fifty-nine billion naira as budget proposal to the state Assembly for the 2021 fiscal year.

The governor represented by the Commissioner for Economic Planning & Budget, Pastor Emmanuel Igbasan at a presentation during plenary tagged the sum “Budget of Hope”.

The 2021 budget proposal is eight billion naira higher than the one hundred and fifty one billion naira revised budget of 2020 fiscal year.

The budget according to the governor was said to have been prepared on the projections of the 2021 to 2023 Medium-Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) as required by Fiscal Responsibility Law passed by the Ondo State House of Assembly, ODHA.

In the budget, a total sum of one hundred and three billion naira has been budgeted for recurrent expenditure and fifty-six billion naira for capital expenditure while over thirteen billion naira was voted for debt services and twelve billion naira for statutory transfer.

Receiving the budget, the speaker, Mr Bamidele Oleyelogun, commended Governor Akeredolu for giving priority to all sectors in order to ensure all-round development of the state.

Mr Oleyelogun assured that the lawmakers would do the needful for thorough and speedy passage of the proposed budget estimates into law.
