Radio Nigeria has again been urged not to derail from the path of professionalism for which it has been known since its establishment.

The chairman, Radio Nigeria Positive fm Fans club popularly called “radio family”, Reverend John Olowo stated this when he led executive members of the fans club on a courtesy visit to the new General Manager of the station, Mrs Olubunmi Olalere.

Reverend Olowo said Positive FM Akure had endeared itself to people with unbiased news and quality programmes which had impacted positively on the society.

The radio family coordinator, Mr Olu bright had earlier said the exco members were at the station to pledge their support to the new general, urging her to builld on the success of the broadcast outfit.

Responding,  Positve fm general manager, Mrs Olubunmi Olalere who appreciated members of the radio family for their loyalty and commitment always promised that the station would continue to serve the society without bias.

Mrs Olalere sought the support of the fans club for the station’s forthcoming 20th anniversary for a successful outing.

Special prayers were offered for the station and the Radio Nigeria family during the visit.

The special valedictory staff forum by Radio Migeria, positive fm, Akure for outgoing general manager, Mr. Tunde Abiodun was ushered with praises and worship.

In his valedictory speech, the outgoing general manager, Mr Abiodun appreciated members of management and staff for the unalloyed support during his three-years plus as the general manager of the station.

in her welcome address the new general manager, Mrs Olubunmi Olalere appreciated members of staff and solicited their supports for her administration.

Mrs Olalere who described the outgoing general manager as disciplinarian and professional to the core, pledged to build on the legacy of her predecessor.


Some members of staff who spoke appreciated the leadership styles of Mr Abiodun and prayed for the incoming general manager, Mrs Olalere to also achieve huge success.

Highlight of the programme was presentation of a picture frame to the outgoing general manager by members of staff.
