Broadcast stations in Nigeria need to place more emphasis on issues that unite the nation rather than the ones that are capable of dividing it.
The Chairman, Ondo State Universal Basic Education Board, Mr Victor Olabimtan gave the advice when he received the management team of Positive 102.5 FM Akure led by the general manager, Mrs Olubunmi Olalere in his office.
Mr Olabimtan described the media as a powerful platform whose activities could either promote unity or ignite war among the people.

He commended Radio Nigeria for using its platform to uplift the people and unite the nation at all times, promising a more robust relationship between Ondo SUBEB and Positive FM Akure.
Earlier, General Manager, Positive FM Akure, Mrs Olalere had appreciated the management of Ondo SUBEB for patronising the station.
Mrs Olalere said the familiarisation visit was aimed at exploring more areas of collaboration between the two government agencies, assuring the SUBEB chairman of quality service from Positive FM always.

Turning around the economic status of women in a COVID-19 era is the theme for the 3rd Foundation for Wives of Ondo State Officials, FOWOSO Summit in Ondo State.
Wife of the Ondo State Governor, Mrs. Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu while on an advocacy visit to Radio Nigeria, Positive FM Akure, called for support of the corporation to actualise the set purpose of FOWOSO.

It was indeed a gathering of elites, friends and loved ones as Sola Oguntoye of Radio Nigeria Positive FM, Akure presented to the public His book titled “Unveiling the Treasures of Ilutitun, Moribodo Kingdom”.
The book showcases the natural endowments of the Ikale community which has been in existence for years.


Speaking on the imperative of the book, Chairman of the occasion, Dr Dele Fagbohunka who lamented the government’s attitude to the study of history called on Nigerians to take delight in the history of the country.
Dr Fagbohunka commended the author, Mr Oguntoye, saying the book would bring Ilutitun into limelight.
While also appreciating the effort of Mr Oguntoye, the book reviewer, Mr Ade Igbasan who was represented by Dr Olufunmi Fakuyi said the likes of Late Folklore musician, Mama Comfort Omoge, late Anglican Bishop, Joshua Ogunele and World famous female wrestler Odunayo Adekuoroye had etched Ilutitun on the sand of time.
A politician, Mr Bimpe Olatemoju urged descendants of Ilutitun to take after Sola Oguntoye by contributing to the development of the community.
In an address, the author, Mr Sola Oguntoye said the book was borne out of the need to showcase his untold discoveries about Ilutitun which in turn would make the ancient community a tourist center.
Dignitaries at the book launch included the Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP deputy governorship candidate in the last election in Ondo State, Mr Ikengboju Gboluga represented by Mr Kunle Akingbulu, Dr Olusegun Akinyombo and some staff of Positive FM, Akure led by Mr John Ebiofini of the news department.
