Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State says he will not renege in his promises to improve welfare of Pensioners. 

Governor Makinde said this while inaugurating the first labour radio station in Africa, Pensioners Fm, situated at Onireke, Ibadan, Oyo State. 

Speaking through his deputy Chief of Staff, Alhaji Mojeed Mogbojubola, Governor Makinde stated that well being of pensioners would always be given priority as they have contributed to the development of the nation. 

He commended Nigeria Union of Pensioners, Oyo State branch, owners of Pensioners Fm, for setting up a radio station that will give voice to the masses.

Earlier, National President of Nigeria Union of Pensioners, Chief Abel Afolayan, and Oyo State Secretary of the union, Mr. Olusegun Abatan, said Pensioners Fm would not violate the nation’s laws while broadcasting in the dissemination of people friendly programmes.

Dignitaries at the event included media Professionals among whom were the Chairman, Nigeria Union of Journalists, Oyo State council, Mr. Adewunmi Faniran and Vice President, Nigeria Association of Women Journalists, NAWOJ, Zone B, Mrs. Morenike Tony-Esan.
