Chief Imam of Ibadan, Alhaji Abdul Ganiy Agbotomokekere has called on Muslims and Nigerians in general to always include the affairs of the country in their prayers.

Alhaji Agbotomokekere stated this at the Ibadan Central Mosque, Oja’ba during a special Jumat prayer to commemorate Nigeria’s 59th independence celebration.

He believed that prayers was essential in tackling numerous challenges facing the country.

Alhaji Agbotomokekere, therefore called on Nigerian leaders at all levels to always have the fear of God in minds to achieve a united and prosperous Nation.

In an interview, Oyo State Deputy Governor, Engineer Rauf Olaniyan called on Nigerians to be optimistic about the country as he believed that the nation would still be a great one.

Engineer Olaniyan added that the citizens should embrace peace and shun negative acts that could lead to destruction of lives and property.
