Osun House of Assembly has passed the 2020 Appropriation Bill of 119, 550, 401, 040 billion naira.

This is sequel to a motion moved by Chairman, Finance and Appropriation, Mr. Taiwo Adebayo calling for the third reading of the clean copy of the Bill.

The Speaker, Mr. Timothy Owoeye, in his remark called on Ministries, Departments and Agencies  to strive to meet the revenue projections geared towards realization of the budget.

Mr. Owoeye maintained that the budget of Restoration would put the state on the path of sustainable growth and development when passed into law.

He noted that the House would not relent in its oversight function of monitoring the full implementation of the budget.

Also, the House congratulated the immediate past Speaker, Dr. Najeem Salaam on his appointment as the Executive Director, Nigeria Communication Satellite by President Muhammadu Buhari.

Meanwhile, the House has reversed the impeachment of the Chairman, Osogbo South Local Council Development Area, Mr. Akeem Olaoye.

The decision of the Assembly followed the consideration of the petition against the purported impeachment of the council boss.

In his remark, the Speaker, Mr. Timothy Owoeye said according to Osun State Local Government Area Council Creation and Administration Law 2015, only the State Assembly has the constitutional right to remove chairman and elected principal officers in the local government.

The Speaker, advised the parliamentarians in Osogbo South LCDA to eschew politics of bitterness and stay away from impeachment.

He said the House would not accept any political actions that would disrupt the peace in the State.

Mr. Owoeye said Mr. Akeem Olaoye remain the Chairman of Oshogbo South LCDA until the Assembly looked into the allegations levied against him.

The council parliament had earlier on Tuesday impeached the Chairman for alleged misconduct.
