The National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, has again presented before the Ondo State Government the reactivation of payment of allowances for corps members deployed to the state.

The state allowance for corps members was stopped by former governor Olusegun Mimiko and efforts have been made by leadership of the scheme for more than eight years to ensure that the corps members working with government are compensated.

The NYSC Area Coordinator for the Southwest zone, Mr. Emmanuel Attah re-presented the case to Chief of Staff, Chief Gbenga Ale and Head of Service, Mr. Oluwadare Aragbaiye , while on an official visit to Ondo State.

Mr Attah urged the State Government to restore the payment of monthly allowance for corps members serving with the Ministry, Departments and Agencies so as to boost their morale.

He however commended the State Government for restoring the state subvention and the release of brand new operational vehicle to the NYSC Secretariat.

In a remark, the Chief of Staff to the Governor and the Head of Service assured the Area Coordinator that the matter would be discussed at the State Executive Council as soon as the proposal was received from the State Coordinator, Mrs. Grace Akpabio.

Mr. Attah, who was accompanied by the Ondo State Coordinator of NYSC, Mrs. Grace Akpabio and other management team also visited heads of major security agencies in Ondo State that have been stakeholder of the scheme.
