The need to put measures in place for the upgrade of Emmanuel Alayande College of Education, Oyo to a degree awarding institution and accreditation of some courses in state owned tertiary institutions formed the major agenda of the Oyo State House of Assembly, OYHA, in its plenary presided over by speaker, Mr. Adebo Ogundoyin. 

This was sequel to a motion brought before the House by the Deputy speaker, Mr. Abiodun Fadeyi representing Ona Ara Constituency. 

Presenting the motion, Mr. Fadeyi expressed concern over recurrent negative effects on students, the non-accreditation of courses in Ibarapa Polytechnic, Eruwa and Oke Ogun Polytechnic, Saki which he attributed to inadequacies in teaching facilities and teaching personnel. 

Contributing, the majority leader of the House, Mr. Sanjo Adedoyin while adding to the prayers of the motion, said the state executive arm should map out modalities on Emmanuel Alayande College which had been running a part time degree programme for many years under Ondo State University, Ado Ekiti. 

Speaker of the House, Mr. Ogundoyin urged the executive through the Ministry of Education and management of state owned tertiary institutions to be proactive in the accreditation of outstanding courses in the affected schools.
