Oyo state government has commenced training for one hundred tailors to produce one million facemasks as one of the measures to contain the spread of COVID-19 in the state.

The training was held at the conference room of the Ministry of Health, Secretariat, Ibadan.

Speaking with Radio Nigeria, President, Association of Tailors, Oyo State Chapter, Mr Ojewale Oloyede, lauded the state government for the initiative.

Mr Ojewale said the association selected the participants across the thirty- three local government, based on the principle of fairness and equity.

The Association’s President gave an assurance that the association would deliver the project according to standard and specification.

It would be recalled that Governor Seyi Makinde while mandating the use of facemask last week had expressed the readiness of his administration to produce one million facemask for the residents of Oyo state.
