Lifting of ban on public gathering is fake news – Oyo Govt

.Oyo State Government has described as untrue news circulating that Governor Seyi Makinde has lifted the ban on public gathering in the state.

A statement by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and publicity, Mr Jide Ajani disassociates government from a fake press statement presently in circulation, referencing some Executive Orders allegedly issued by the Executive Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency, Engineer Seyi Makinde.

According to the statement, the individual who signed the statement is one Adeniran Adenuga, who assumed the title of ‘Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Governor.

The statement says the fake news is not from Governor Makinde’s Media Office and the so-called Executive Orders are false in all materials particular.

It reiterates that there is no lifting of the ban on public gatherings including churches and mosques.

The statement therefore urges member of the public to treat the statement as fake news and another handiwork of enemies of the state.
