The State Working Committee, SWC of the Social Democratic Party, SDP in Ondo State says it has accepted the resignation letter of its State Chairman, Chief Korede Duyile.

The Committee at a meeting in Akure announced the legal Adviser of the party in Ondo State, Mr Dele Thomas as its acting Chairman, the SWC also suspended the former candidate of the party in the 2016 governorship election, Dr Olu Agunloye over allegations of anti-party activities and gross misconduct.

The SWC through the State Publicity Secretary, Mr Remi Olayiwola in an exclusive interview with Radio Nigeria said it appreciated the leadership roles of Chief Duyile and wished him well in his future endeavors.

The SDP condemned the activities of Dr Agunloye since the last governorship election which led to infiltration of the party by some alleged unwholesome members.

The State Working Committee maintained that it would take more stringent punitive measures against Dr Agunloye for the alleged anti-party activities.

The State Publicity Secretary noted that the State Working Committee remained intact.

Meanwhile there was an initial press statement indicating suspension of the State Working Committee led by Chief Duyile by the faction alleged to be loyal to Dr Agunloye.
