Civil servants on Grade level 12 and below in Oyo state resumed today following the directive of the state government which earlier shutdown workplace as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Radio Nigeria correspondent who monitored the situation at the Agodi Secretariat, Ibadan reports that members of the Nigeria and Civil Defense Corps and the Oyo state Road Management Agency were present at the two gates leading to the secretariat.

Radio Nigeria observed that hand washing facilities were placed at the entrance of ministries while face masks vendors used the resumption to make brisk business at the entrances of the secretariat.

The main gate of the secretariat which had been shut following the closure of the complex has been reopened for activities.

Some of the workers who spoke with Radio Nigeria said they were happy to return back to work after almost three months of staying at home and they promised to be committed to their duties.

It would be recalled that the state government closed the secretariat on March 27th and reopened it partially for level 13 and above on April 27th as part of measures to contain the spread of the COVID-19
