The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has released Notification of Election indicating commencement of electoral procedure for Ondo State governorship polls coming up on October 10, 2020.
The state Resident Electoral Commissioner, REC, Dr Rufus Akeju released the documents at the commission’s headquarters in Akure.
He stated that the notice of election had been pasted in all INEC offices across the 18 Local Government Areas of the state.
Dr Akeju disclosed that the commission had also produced a booklet containing operational guidelines for the conduct of the election in line with current reality of COVID-19 pandemic ravaging the world.
The REC said security agents for the conduct of the election would undergo special training.
Dr Akeju revealed that INEC would be fair as an unbiased umpire.
18 political parties are expected to participate in the election.
