Education stakeholders have lauded Federal Government’s decision to suspend the reopening of school to prevent the spread of covid-19.

 Speaking with Radio Nigeria, Head of Department, Adult Education, University of Ibadan, Professor Rasheed Aderinoye, said the decision of the Government was a right step in a right decision.

He noted that monitoring of students from different homes would not be easy to trace due to their age, which could be eventually aid more case of Covid-19.

Professor Aderinoye said the suspension of the re-opening of schools would prevent and safe guard students and pupils lives as well as their parents and teachers.

Contributing, a public affairs analyst, Dr Rasheed Fasasi said though the decision was a difficult one but it would prevent the worst scenarios of the negative effects of covid-19.

Dr Fasasi said with the suspension of the re-opening of schools, teaching and non-teaching staff would be mostly affected and Governments needed to come to their aids as they contribute their quota to the development of the Nation through payment of tax.

Residents in some parts of Ibadan, however, expressed divergent views on the effect of Federal Government’s suspension of schools re-opening.

But they all called on parents to support the Governments by enlightening their children on safety measures to prevent the spread of covid-19.
