Oyo State Director, National Orientation Agency, NOA, Mrs Dolapo Dosunmu has challenged the state government through the office of the Special Adviser to the Governor on Tourism to intensify effort at promoting indigenous languages. 

Mrs Dosunmu stated this while receiving the Special Adviser to Governor Makinde on Culture and Tourism, Mr Ademola Ige, at the NOA Secretariat, Ibadan. 

The NOA boss who noted that the ways local languages and cultural values are going into extinction called for concern, said local languages and traditional attires were enough to promote tourism in the state. 

Mrs Dosunmu advised Oyo State Government to declare a day during the week that will workers wear traditional attire and communicate in their local languages to encourage members of the public. 

Earlier, Special Adviser to the Governor on Culture and Tourism, Mr Ademola Ige said the purpose of the familiarization visit was to seek partnership with NOA, Oyo State to enlighten people on the untapped potentials in tourism sector of the state. 

Mr Ige said the state will soon hold a tourism summit with a view to moving the economy forward.
