Osun State government wants heads of schools and teachers to
complement efforts at containing the community spread of COVID-19 as West African School Certificate Examination begins on Monday in the state.

Commissioner for Environment and Sanitation, Mr Sola Oladepo made the
call while speaking with Radio Nigeria in Ilesa on the reduction of the community transmission of the pandemic among students, Mr Oladepo explained that the support of teachers and principals became necessary to protect the students during the international examination.

In his contribution, a lecturer in the Department of Economics, Osun
State College of Education, Ilesa, Mr Wole Olajide lauded government
for the measures put in place and the sitting arrangement of the
students against the spread of COVID-19.

The lecturer however advised the state and local governments to devote
much attention and resources to the schools at the grassroots.

Mr Olajide reminded parents that the safety of the students was a collective responsibility and not that of the teachers and government
alone.
