Create functional websites and vibrant fan base, Osman Sillah advices Nigerian Clubs
To attract more audience to Nigeria’s football league, there is the need for clubs to have functional websites and vibrant fan base.
A football administrator, Osman Sillah stated this while fielding questions from football stakeholders on Sports World Platform.
Mr. Sillah said Clubs should involve their supporters in the running of the affairs of the Clubs and also provide them with replica jerseys
The Chairman of Oyah Sports FC of Suleja explained further that management of Nigerian Clubs must give adequate publicity to their activities while the era of live broadcast of matches should be restored.
Another factor that could attract more audience to the nation’s league, according to Mr Sillah is the need to check ‘must win’ syndrome of some Clubs
“Stakeholders need to attract audience, get a viable league by televising the matches to make it more interesting and it will give the players the opportunity to be seen in overseas” Sillah pointed out.
The former Player of Sharks Aberdeen of Sierra Leone also stressed the need for Nigeria football federation, NFF, to come up with modalities in the area of provision of state of the art stadia and not leave everything for the government.
The former Chief Scout of Ajax Amsterdam appealed to government and Corporate organizations to partner private club owners in developing the game of football in the country.
