Oyo State Government has suspended the recruitment process of persons living with disabilities into the state workforce following allegations of list manipulation.

The State Chairman, Post Primary Teaching Service Commission TESCOM, Pastor Akinade Alamu, announced that the ongoing recruitment of persons living with disabilities into both teaching and non-teaching service had been placed on hold .

According to Pastor Alamu, the decision followed a meeting held between the Joint Association of Persons Living With Disabilities (PLWD) and top government officials, following a protest staged against TESCOM by persons living with a disability alleging shortchange in the teaching recruitment process.

The TESCOM chairman explained the recruitment process of persons living with disabilities into the state workforce would be put on hold pending the outcome of a committee to be set up to look into the alleged manipulation leveled against the commission by the persons living with disabilities.

Pastor Alamu stated that the committee would be set up immediately to investigate the allegations by the protesters, adding that anyone found wanting would be adequately dealt with.

Government functionaries at the meeting with TESCOM chairman, Pastor Akinade Alamu were Commissioner for Education Science, And Technology, Barrister Olasunkanmi Olaleye, Commissioner for Establishment and Training, Professor Daud Sangodoyin.

Others are the Executive Assistant to the Governor on Administration, Reverend Idowu Ogedengbe, and the Executive Assistant on Disabilities, Barrister Ayodele Adekanbi.
