Commissioner of Police in Oyo State, Mr Nwachuku Enwonwu has called on the newly promoted officers to see their elevations as higher responsibility in tackling insecurity that is bedeviling the society.

He stated this while decorating the thirty seven newly promoted officers from the rank of Inspector to Assistant Superintendent of Police .

Mr Enwonwu stated further that the promoted personnel should see their new ranks as new challenges, hence the need for them to double their efforts at securing people’s lives and property.

Declaring the event opening, Governor Seyi Makinde who spoke through Executive Assistant to the Governor on Security, retired CP, Sunday Odukoya urged the decorated officers to use their new post to redeem and manage the image of the force.

Governor Makinde, therefore, pledged his continuous support towards security to maintain a peaceful atmosphere in Oyo State.

Speaking on behalf of the thirty seven promoted personnel, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Mr Ayodele Shonubi appreciated God and other stakeholders who made the promotion possible and promised to double their efforts in bringing the issues of criminalities in Oyo State to the barest minimum.

Out of the thirty seven officers, Police Public Relations Officer in Oyo State, Mr Olugbenga Fadeyi was promoted from the rank of Superintendent of Police to Chief Superintendent of police.
