The Executive Chairman, Ogun State Universal Basic Education Board, Ogun, SUBEB, Doctor Femi Majekodunmi has identified training and retraining of officers in latest technology as essential towards enhancing teaching and learning.

Doctor Majekodunmi stated this while flagging off a 5-day training workshop on Effective School Evaluation for 100 Education Quality Assurance Officers at SUBEB Headquarter and across the 20 Local Government Education Authorities.

He explained that equipping the quality Assurance Officers with modern techniques was needed for effective and efficient implementation of basic education in State.

In a remark, the Executive Secretary, Universal Basic Education Commission, UBEC, Dr. Hamid Bobboyi who was represented by Acting Zonal Director, South West, Alhaji Alabi Asaju said the workshop was organized to improve the capacity of quality Assurance Officers at the SUBEB and the LGEA level for efficient and effective evaluation of schools to enhance learning outcomes.

Also, the Director Quality Assurance UBEC, Mallam Mansir Idris, represented by the UBEC coordinator for quality assurance training, Mr. Julius Adedoja, said the training was part of the efforts to equip Quality Assurance Officers in the State with relevant and necessary skills required to conduct effective evaluation in schools.

Earlier, the Board Secretary, Ogun SUBEB, Mr. Wasiu Kuye, had suggested that a day be set aside for practical to be carried out in 20 Public Primary schools in the State to test run the skills acquired during the training.
