Muslim Community of Oyo State has advised Governor Seyi Makinde to ensure justice and fairness in the constitution of his new cabinet.
This is contained in a statement in Ibadan by the Chairman, Alhaji Kunle Sanni, and Secretary, Alhaji Murisiku Siyanbade.
The group noted that justice, fairness and equity in the appointment of the new cabinet by the governor are necessary so as not to deny Muslims their rights.
The Muslim Community decried the recently dissolved cabinet in which it claimed Governor Makinde appointed less number of Muslims.
The group however enjoined the Governor to avoid such lopsided appointments in his yet to be constituted new cabinet in order to promote peace and harmony in the state.
While confirming that the governor has the right to fire and hire, the Muslim community said the state’s helmsman will not lose anything if he uses his appointment to promote religious harmony in the state.
The group assured Governor Makinde of the support of the Muslims in the state, in as much as he ensures religious justice in all spheres of governance.
