Ahead of the forthcoming local government and councillorship election, this saturday, the Ogun state independent electoral commission, OGSIEC says plans are on top gear to conduct a successful election.

Chairman, OGSIEC, Mr. Babatunde Osibodu made this know while fielding question from members of house committee on Special duties and Parastatals, led by Mr. Adeniran Ademola during the half year budget appraisal, held at the Assembly complex, Oke Mosan, Abeokuta .

Mr. Osibodu revealed that the voters register would be displayed tomorrow across the over 3,000 old polling units, while proper documentation of all the candidates had been carried out.

The OGSIEC Chairman noted that 12 political parties would be participating in the election ,stressing that there would be restriction of vehicular movement, to avoid unruly behaviour.

He further explained that the election results would not be transmitted through electronics means, adding that  every eligible voter whose name appear on displayed register would be allowed to vote with any valid card including Permanent Voter Card, Drivers License and National Identity Card.

Responding, the Chairman of the Committee, Mr. Adeniran challenged the Commission to put in place measures towards ensuring the conduct of a very transparent and credible election.
