Youths have been advised to provide credible leadership alternative to the nation with good conduct and enviable character aimed at bringing about peace and economic prosperity.

A community leader in Orile Imo, Chief Olalekan Olakunle gave the advice at the Second summit of the Southern Youth Assembly of Nigeria held in Abeokuta.

The community leader noted that youth must recognised their responsibilities as a critical components of the society.

He stressed the importance of youths being law abiding and be supportive of laudable projects of government at all levels as part of their readiness to lead.

Earlier, the Chairman of the Youth Assembly, Mr. Ife Ahmed said the event was organised to get the youths involved in the nation building process and to equip them for the tasks before them.

The summit with the theme, the role of youth in the sociopolitical and economic development of Nigeria’ was to chat the way forward for youth’s emancipation in Nigeria.
