There was confusion in Ejigbo as APC factions clashed during the swearing-in of the Party’s executives in Ejigbo local government area of Osun state.

The swearing-in process which was said to have been scheduled to hold at the Party’s secretariat in Ejigbo was allegedly disrupted when a faction of the party insisted that the swearing-in would not hold at the venue.

The development which led to a free for all left about two people injured but was later put under control by the heavy presence of security men.

The swearing-in was later shifted to Ejigbo local government council premises where the executives were sworn-in amidst heavy security presence.

Speaking after the exercise, an APC stalwart in Ejigbo, Bade Falade said the swearing-in was in accordance with the directive of the party.

“We have gathered to inaugurate the local government executives in Ejigbo.there were congresses at the ward and local government level. The inauguration has climaxed the process with the swearing in of the newly elected exco of APC. we as leaders have charged them to be up and doing.” He said.

Speaking on the fracas that ensued on the exercise, Falade said misunderstanding was meant to occur in every big Political party but expressed confidence that the differences would be resolved.

“What we have seen is a strife of two brothers. Immediately after this program we will deploy all necessary machinery for reconciliation.

There are bound to be misunderstandings and misgivings. When the affected people meet, there are rooms and tendencies for them to resolve and I am optimistic of a positive resolution in Ejigbo.

Speaking with Radio Nigeria, Lateef Adegoke who was sworn in as the party’s local government chairman noted that all the crises within the party would be resolved.

However, Folasole Ayankunbi who also claimed to be the substantive chairman of the party in Ejigbo accused the other faction of not following due process.

“The problem is not peculiar to Osun state alone but to the nation at large.

Our congress in Abuja directed us to go for consensus but we were not comfortable with consensus, we opted for election but they refused. Since then we have been carrying out our activities separately” He said

Ayankunbi expressed the hope that everything would still return to its normal shape.
